My first potato ricer post!

Well.. where to start. Its all about my favorite potato - mashed potato!
Is there anything you can really write about potato mash? Of course! its not just about one recipe.

I like to mix it up - mustard mash, tomato mash, a hint of mint or spice.. spring onions.

Ill put some recipes up here over the next few weeks.

To start with who owns the number 1 mashed potato kitchen utensil that every dedicated masher should have? What is it? ...the potato ricer of course!

My person potato ricer is the OXO good grips model. A nice and sturdy stainless steel ricer with rubber grips. Great for making super smooth mash potato! need it chunky.. use a masher, want it smooth use a ricer!

Most potato ricers nowadays have stainless steel cutting disks but it is still possible to find plastic and aluminium models. I think stainless is the best - you know it is going to stay shiny and look good i your kitchen, and some of the plastic ones feel like they are a bit too flexible.. like they will snap.

Check out this page for a selection of ricers

Again the OXO one is shown on that page.. with a selection of others.
There is also a link to the potato ricers that amazon sells.

And some recipes here
